Verona's Wonders

Hi guys, today on The Mayhap Book we want to show you a beautiful town we went yesterday; its the town where Shakespeare's inspiration of  Romeo and Juliet  was born. The name of the town is Verona, in Italy a beautiful medieval town one hour and a half away from Milan by train; its a really small town but very picturesque, full of attractions such as The Arena di Verona, one of the most important amphitheaters in the Roman era, the Piazza delle Erbe, its a piazza where you can find various buildings and in the mornings you can find a market selling all different types of souvenirs and also scarfs, accessories, fruits, goodies, etc.

Another of Verona's wonders, is the Castelvecchio, which is also a museum; Castlevecchio is a 14th century fortress and residence, which also has a bridge that crosses the river of Verona.
Another attraction that we went to in Verona were all the action happened is Casa di Giulietta where we have the famous balcony where Romeo used to climb in order to see his lover Juliet, also in Juliet's house you can write a love letter to Juliet just as the movie "Letters to Juliet" or as well put a love lock in the gate to promise true love forever, and before leaving touch the breast of the statue of Juliet for luck in love! And Finally there is the  Tomba di Giulietta in which according to Shakespeare's novel is where the two cross star lovers  Romeo and Juliet died promising true love forever.

Hola!! El post de hoy les queremos ensenar un pueblo padrísimo al que fuimos ayer; es en este pueblo donde la inspiración de Shakespeare para hacer Romeo y Julieta nació. El nombre de este pueblo es Verona, un pueblito medieval a hora y media de Milán en tren. Es un pueblo muy chiquito pero es muy pintoresco, lleno de atracciones como La Arena de Verona, una de los anfiteatros mas importantes de la era Romana. La Piazza delle Erbe es una plaza donde puedes encontrar varios edificios y en las mañanas hay un mercado donde venden muchísimos souvenirs y también bufandas, accesorios, frutas, etc. 

Otra de las atracciones de Verona es el Castelvecchio; una fortaleza y residencia del siglo XIV y hoy también es un museo. El castillo cuenta con un puente que cruza el rio de Verona.

Por supuesto que no se nos iba a olvidar visitar la Casa de Julieta donde esta el famoso balcón donde Romeo solía trepar para ver a su amante Julieta; también en la casa de Julieta puedes escribir una carta de amor como en la película “Cartas a Julieta” o puedes poner un candado de amor en una puerta y con esto prometes amor eterno. Antes de irte puedes tocarle el pecho a una estatua de Julieta y supuestamente esto te va a dar buena suerte en el amor. Finalmente esta la Tumba de Julieta donde los dos enamorados mueren prometiéndose amor para siempre.
